The History

 

On March 22nd 1866, the birthday of Kaiser Wilhelm I., the company "Schuster & Wilhelmy" was founded by the royal Prussian Conncillor of Commerce Ferdinand Wilhelmy and the City Conncillor Dr. Robert Schuster.

 

The originators

 

The company began with the development and sale of chemical products but soon expanded into the production of colored glass plugs, grain and powder.

 

 

By the turn of the century, the color glassworks of Reichenbach were supplying customers all over Europe, North and South America, India, Japan and China. The high quality of the products as well as the wide variety of colors on offer gave Reichenbach glass a good reputation throughout the world. The glass specialists Michael Eisch, Ludwig Eisch, August Bind, Klaus Kügler, Prof. Paul Beyersdorfer , Georg Staffen and Wolfgang Lätsch all worked in Reichenbach. Even today our objective is to offer customers all over the world a wide variety of colored glass products, all of excellent quality.

In order to continually fulfill the needs of our customers we employ a highly-qualified team under the leadership of our glass specialist Joachim Olbrich.

 

Today we produce and deliver color rods, cups for overlay, granulate, powder, glass rods for pressing, glass for classic mosaics and special glasses all over the world.
